Canberra ACT Australia

Well, Canberra, what can I say about you? Definitely a lot more positives than when I first came here to live in 2002, after leaving the UK (for the second time !).
I used to think you had nothing, were old fashioned in all things - architecture, clothes shops, streets, poor bus services for outer suburbs (slightly better now on that issue though!), in fact, quite a boring place, until, one new year, when a friend was sick of hearing me whinging again, suggested I look for the positives, as I was working here and that would be for some unforeseeable  time.
Well, to say I love you is probably being over the top, but I do know that I just love showing you off, especially to overseas visitors. I look at you so differently now, am proud to live in this amazing city, where the scenery is amazing, the heart of the city is vibrant, filled with great shops, wonderful coffee shops and eateries, have numerous festivals throughout the year, wonderful art galleries - intact a great number of fabulous galleries, and Lake Burley Griffin - people running, cycling, walking, canoeing, the annual Florida Festival that brings in thousand and thousands of visitors from all over the world, and one of my favourite things is the annual Balloon festival, where numerous balloons take off from in front of the beautiful Old Parliament House .
Enough from my rabbiting ons...proof is in the pudding, so I shall leave you today with some images I have taken....I hope you can see why I love this city...oh yes....don't start me on how easy it is to get around by car (and a car you do need, if like me, you live out in the last northern suburbs (last for now, until they build more houses :( )

Beginnings

For a few years now, I have always thought about doing a blog. Now, along with my friend Akka
showing me the way, it starts. It will be slow but please hang in there.
